There is no bigger mountain bike race series than World Cup 2006. Every year, UCI does a great job of putting together a truly international mountain bike race series. World Cup 2006 will be no exception. With events scheduled all around the world, World Cup 2006 is set to bring mountain biking to the masses.

History

The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup is a series of mountain bike races held annually, and organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale. The first World Cup was held in 1991 for cross-country, downhill was added in 1993. In 1998 dual slalom was added, this was replaced with 4-cross in 2002.

Riders win points for their placing in each race, the leader in points at the end of the season wins the World Cup title.

The 2006 UCI Mountain Bike WorldCup includes four disciplines : marathon, cross-country, downhill and 4-cross.
